MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING(available in your area) 

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a course that teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses (mentalhealthfirstaid.org). 

 

Course Options to explore:

(1) Youth Mental Health First Aid: designed for adults regularly interacting with adolescents (age 12-18). 

(2) Adult Mental Health First Aid: appropriate for anyone 18+ who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem.

 

Objectives:

- introduce common mental health challenges 

- review typical adolescent development

- teach 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

 

Topics covered: anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

NLP coaching may very well be the answer. Through group sessions, Deborah will work to help you begin thinking positively and improve communication with yourself and others. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) has roots in behavioral sciences and is an effective approach to communication and personal development. It is guided by the principle that everyone already has the resources they need to make positive change in their life. NLP perceptual, behavioral and communication techniques tap into these resources and reframe the mind to encourage new ways of thinking.

  • Corporate trainings in conflict management/quiet quitting

  • Identifying personality differences in how we think and connect the broken communication.

Objectives: 

Bring about positive changes in perception and connection to improve productivity, address mental health challenges and create a healthy change.

Potential topics to cover: anxiety, depression, personal and/or professional development, unhealthy decisions, decision making (analysis paralysis)

Are you a parent feeling ill-equipped to handle the challenges of today's youth? 

Are you currently working with a group of young adults that need direction or support? 

Deborah is excited to offer realistic, engaging, and effective workshops geared towards both youth and adults. Presentation topics may vary dependent on group need, but include:

  • Increasing awareness and equipping participants with strategies to combat mental health challenges. 

  • Creating a safe space for youth and adults to allow a sense of understanding as to how we feel the way we do and why

  • Provide a toolkit to identify and overcome road blocks in their mental health.

  • Instill a sense of belonging and knowledge about who we are *Youth specifically will become more aware of themselves and their own unique strengths and abilities.
